Announcement: AIC Responds to COVID-19
American Indian Center responds to COVID-19
Chicago, IL. The American Indian Center of Chicago has been closely following the COVID-19 situation and remains committed to keeping our members informed and cared for as much as possible. With the shelter in place order from Gov. Pritzker, AIC will remain closed to the public and insist that members shelter in place. AIC will be open for essential business only until April 7th with only a handful of staff working in the Center. We will provide additional updates on programming as the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
The Board and staff are also committed to finding ways to support you during this time. Please continue to check out our website and social media updates as we will be rolling out ideas and calls for donations to support our members. We are making plans for the distribution of care packages, seed starter kits for members to plant and grow at home, online cultural educational courses and lessons for kids and virtual art exhibits from our archives, but we want to know what you need during this time. If you have ideas of programs or services you would like to see us offer during this time, please reach out to Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call at 773.275.5871. Follow us via our social media as we will continue to provide updates and resources.
We are all feeling the impacts of our current situation and miss being face to face with you during this time but we are most concerned with the health and safety of you and your family. Please take this time to heal, connect with those closest to you and begin looking forward to a time when we can gather again. Thank you for your support, stay safe and keep checking in for more information.
