Announcement: Friday Food Distribution Update
Friday Food Distribution Update
To our community,
We are writing to inform you all that this Friday, October 2nd, 2020 will be the end of our current food box distribution program. We realize the stress that this will put on families and so we are also working on the next phase of food resources to provide to community members. Through this shut down, we have been working to build a kitchen and food pantry facility in the current building. We have also been working with local community members and other nonprofit organizations to provide free meals to community members and we intend to continue this service. In partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, we anticipate a new kitchen and pantry facility by the end of the year. Our goal is to prepare and serve daily meals to the community as a way to continue the food program.
We understand that the lack of boxes will bring undue hardship on some folks and for that we are truly sorry. We are working to stock our shelves and we expect to be able to provide limited numbers of boxes with shelf stable pantry items like canned goods and dried beans. Please reach out to us to inquire about these resources and to schedule an appointment to pick up items.
We intend to offer more contactless free meals for pickup in the next few weeks as well. We will be providing a contactless Thanksgiving dinner and more information will be available soon. Please keep checking our social media for updates and give us a call with questions.
