Brief info

Mark is an elder and a member of the Cherokee Nation. He is a graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and St. Louis University. As a masters level clinical social worker he is retired after 37 years of professional employment. Most recently he has served as a clinical consultant for AIC's Project Beacon.

Mark is the father of two adult children and a grandfather to 6 grandchildren. He has been dedicated to families and children throughout his career. Additionally, he has focused on the well-being and mental health of minority communities.

Mark's Native American identity has always been central to him. He is particularly sensitive to the discrimination which can occur as a result of being a minority within a predominantly white society.
